My Philosophy
I believe Architecture is the science of building art. Science is knowledge and in architecture knowledge is needed to find solutions for the interaction of the environment, the surrounding, materials and codes with the use and the users of the building.
When starting a project I always try to understand how the wind, sun, and water affects and interacts with the site. This helps with decisions of building orientation, location of entrance, where and how many windows need to be used, etc. These studies help me make environmentally friendly decisions, which are a key factor in my building designs.
In my designs, human/user interaction is the most important contributor to design decisions. Circulation is a key factor that I like to emphasize with clean lines and straight forward solutions. It is what makes the difference in how a user interacts within a building. This same clean and straight forward approach is used to treat the building’s aesthetics.
Each project is unique and I address its problems from design to design. The solutions need to be creative and it is these details that make each project unique and outstanding. My designs make me responsible for people’s lives and even their lifestyles, I have to be extremely thorough on how to address their safety and still achieve architecture, my work and my passion.
